Colour makes me smile.

Welcome to my blog, thanks for stopping by to read.
As I type this post, I’m snuggled under a cozy crochet blanket to keep warm. The temperature really seems to have plummeted the last few days, and although it was bright this morning, this afternoon has turned wet and grey.
But... to say that I’m feeling slightly giddy with excitement is not an exaggeration. I’ve been asked to take part in “the great rainbow swap”, being hosted by @the_craftcafe on Instagram. The idea being to create something colourful and send it to a fellow crafter and receive a kaleidoscopic surprise in return. I can’t wait to get started on it!
Colour makes me happy! I’m not a minimalist kind of girl, each to their own and all that, but I’m sort of a “more is more” type of person when it comes to
Ucolour. And I’m seeing this as an invitation to go crazy with it.
I have no idea what I shall make yet, but I like the idea of trying to incorporate different materials and techniques. I love the colours that have been used to decorate this subway near me. Created with the help of the local primary school and some graffiti artists, I get to walk through it on the way to take my orders to the post office and it genuinely makes me smile. So much better than the grubby white paint that was there before!
I like taking photos of random colourful things when I’m out and about, it makes
me smile and indirectly influences the things I create. Like these dogs in Monmouth or the beach huts in Barry. Instant bursts of sunshine even when the weather isn’t great.
My craft room is like an explosion in a paint factory. I surround myself with colour, pattern and texture, and I keep some of my creations around me to brighten my day and inspire my next make. Like this basket of stress relief dolls ...

...Or this sugar skull card.
Anyway enough typing, my fingers are itching to drag out some random colourful materials and get creating.
Plus I’ve had enough of the technical issues that have plagued me during the writing of this post - apologies for the sudden change of font, just one of the glitches this afternoon! And unfortunately I don’t seem to be able to change it at the mo. Maybe it’s Halloween spirits at play !
Talking of playing it’s time for me to get creative ...until next time ...
